Position Summary: 

You will be responsible for maintenance and development of hardware tools used in test automation. This includes searching for new solutions and design hardware, based on requirements coming from Harman’s internal projects. As a member of Global Test Automation team you could be asked to support Harman’s projects in hardware design as well.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, redesign and development of Hardware test tools based on requirements provided by test teams.
  • Support of full hardware design process (schematic, PCB layout, testing, production).
  • Search for new hardware solutions available on the market. Preparing PoCs (proof of concept).
  • Test prototypes with cooperation of software developers and test teams (worldwide).
  • Maintenance and support of existing hardware tools (bug fixing, trouble shooting, replacing parts, redesign).
  • Preparing and support production process of designed hardware tools.
  • Preparing hardware documentation.
  • Following Harman’s standards and internal processes applied to hardware development.


Basic Qualifications: 

  • Master or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in hardware development (embedded systems).
  • Ability to take responsibility for complete HW tool design process (searching for new solutions, first prototype, tests, final product, production).
  • Good knowledge of CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, USB interfaces and busses.
  • Basic programming skills (to prepare first prototypes) in C, C++.
  • Good English communication skills (written and spoken).


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Good knowledge of Atmel ARM microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of SoC available on market like RaspberryPi or BeagleBone Black.
  • Knowledge of hardware testing and debugging procedures.


Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Willingness to travel.



  • Familiar with Atlassian Tool Chain (Stash, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Knowledge of Mentor Graphics, TARGET 3001! PCB design software.
  • Knowledge of SAP database system (from user perspective).
