Sourcing Manager, Engineering Services

Position Summary: Relative to all Global Software Services Procurement (GISP) areas, this Global role is responsible for sourcing, commercial and tactical procurement activities within the Engineering Services, reporting to the Manager of Global Sourcing for the same. The individual must be a subject matter expert in Engineering Services sourcing and Procurement strategies, tactical operations and related activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This is an individual contributor role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support in managing the Global Category Spend of over $100M, working closely with all functional and divisional managers, internal stakeholders and external sources.
  • Individual contributor role.  Responsible to manage and make critical decisions on all aspects of supplier relationship including contracts, commercial/pricing, supply assurance and conflict resolution.
  • Develop and execute sub-category strategies through alignment with Harman International global category manager, business units, engineering, quality, manufacturing activities.  Requires knowledge of the business units technology and product roadmaps and specific expertise in procurement and manufacturing cost structure.
  • The role requires a sophisticated level of relationship management interfacing with global suppliers, requiring balancing of interests to maintain mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Coordination of engagement between procurement, supply chain functions and senior stake holders within the BU. This person will be an escalation/communication point for Harman International and the supply partner.
  • Support in achieving the overall category targets and objectives to attain overall budget performance as well as expected internal/external performance.
  • Align sub-category strategy with overall category strategy, supply chain and business requirements
  • Establish consistent commercial terms/conditions and present a single unified Harman International interface to the supply base
  • Execute effective supplier negotiations and event driven cost reductions to meet annual cost reduction goals. 
  • Drive supplier rationalization strategy to maximize category leverage
  • Manage the sourcing process by: creating RFX, analysis, evaluation, negotiation, and award
  • Serve as a point of contact for BU sourcing issues and opportunities related to category management. Orchestrate cross-functional, cross site, internal/ external teams
  • Establish goals, improvement plans, business reviews and monthly reporting related to areas of responsibility
  • Oversee compliance with legal, business, code of conduct, financial and SOX requirements
  • process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders as required
  • Manage business relationships with suppliers, including SOW development, KPIs, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Require a Bachelors degree in Business, HR, Marketing, Supply Management or related field. Masters Degree preferred.
  • Experience in sourcing & procurement activities within a manufacturing dominated business environment with a minimum of 10 plus years of experience
  • Strong analytical skills including usage Excel for data analysis
  • Strong computer skills including usage of Microsoft Office tools; knowledge of e-procurement tools

Preferred Qualifications: Please list the preferred qualifications needed for this position based on the following:

  • SAP experience (Requisitions, POs., etc) a plus
  • Technical background in Software preferred

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 25% of time
  • Willingness to work in an office located in Bangalore, India
