Position Summary: Architect & Solution Designer for IBM CLM application lifecycle management toolchain

The IBM ALM technology expert designs and stailizes the entire IBM CLM Jazz Platform and associated tools like CCM, RQM, DNG, LQE, JRS etc.  which are used by Engineering Requirement teams for Connected Car business at Harman. He/she is experienced user of IBM CLM applications from the IT systems & backend platform level and will be able to sustain the CLM platform, resolve issues/challenges and improve performance for the IBM CLM platform being a part of Digital Engineering IT team. Also this resource modifies the framework for the IBM CLM application as and when needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administrate, configure, implement and maintain
    • IBM CLM Toolchain (CCM, QM, RM, JRS, LQE, DCC, DM etc.)
    • Server monitoring for IBM Toolchain (using jmeter or similar)
    • Tuning backend infrastructure like IBM Liberty & HTTP Server for performance
    • CLM upgrade and rollout of patches and fixes.
    • Rebase/rehost DB and application to maintain backup instance.
    • Automate, simplify application maintenance and minimize manual intervention.
    • Work closely with business/support teams to understand and resolve technical issues.

 

  • Expert in IBM CLM architecture, solution design, system interface and integrations. Helps determine technical requirements, manage changes, develops migration and implementation plans and participate in programs based on these activities. Works with functional architects to implement customization, create design documents, internal knowledgebase etc.

 

  • Finalize infrastructure design and ensure infrastructure is secured for programs.
  • Participate and plan in strategy for IBM CLM platform and design.
  • Reviews functional and design specs and give recommendation based on good practices in the industry.
  • Produces documented application frameworks or architectures to help with root causing, ensuring best performance standards.
  • Participate and plan the CLM platform roadmap in line with future growth/capacity.
  • Maintains peer relationships across IT areas (Business, Ops, CoC, BUI etc.) to support effective implementations.
  • Document system architecture of solutions or complete application landscapes
  • Document and follow up configuration changes with associated test cases and perform or accompany functional validation

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master Degree or equivalent in Computers, Information Technology, or related field
  • Expert in IBM CLM Application Administration (CCM, QM*, RM**, LQE, JRS etc) around 5-7 years.
  • More than 5 years knowledge and practical experience managing CLM applications on Linux OS (preferably RedHat)
  • Good knowledge and practical experience using a script language (for example  Shell, Perl etc.)
  • More than 1 year knowledge and practical experience setting up web-based applications (java based).
  • More than 2 years of experience with IBM CLM Database maintenance experience (for example Oracle/DB2).
  • More than 1 year understanding of Web-Server configuration and administration (SSL, virtual host, reverse-proxy – with WebSphere Liberty & IHS)
  • More than 5 year practiced English language skills oral and written
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical manuals and design papers
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple projects.
  • A global perspective with the ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization.
  • Proven ability to manage key stakeholder interests, simultaneously managing conflicting priorities and business interests.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time
  • Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test
  • Willingness to work in a variable shift model to cover other timezones
  • Willingness to work in an office in Bangalore, India.
