What is the Role?

The Technical Support Engineer role primarily provides post-sales technical support of Harman Professional Products and Solutions.  The role is specialised to categories of products from within the Harman Professional Portfolio. Postholder will additionally promote the interests of the company by supporting system integrators as well as distributors and end-users in the rectification of product issues.  Postholder may also be required to support EMEA sales teams and effort with support, including on-site support which may be in any of the global regions covered by the postholder’s geographical remit.

This particular role will focus on supporting parts of our moving heads lighting fixtures, including but not limited to our Rush and Axiom ranges of products within the Martin Lighting brand.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical support to distributor and subsidiary service teams.
  • Creation of cases, monitoring and reporting in CRM and warranty systems
  • Create and maintain service item data in ERP system.
  • Administration of service tasks related to new product development projects.
  • Participation in product development projects.
  • Create and maintain technical bulletins, service documentation etc.
  • Service tasks related to engineering change orders.
  • Assist in development and creation of service and aftermarket products.
  • Onsite support on critical customer cases when needed.
  • Perform technical training within assigned product segment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically qualified to HNC / HND level in electronics or another relevant subject, but may be qualified by experience.
  • 5+ years related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Martin products and lighting theory to component level is an advantage.
  • Ability to function independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent English is required; skills in other languages are an advantage.
  • High Level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Self-Motivated.
  • Electrician, electronic technician or other similar technical back ground.
  • Experienced use of Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce CRM and Jira
  • Knowledge of the lighting business and the Martin company

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 25%
