1.         Chair and/or attend customer meetings as Harman’s engineering representative.  Provide immediate feedback to the appropriate Harman’s personnel.  Examples of meetings include:

  • Audio system open issue meetings (HW, SW, Mecha, System & any other issues)
  • Design reviews at the concept, prototype and production stages of development
  • Issue-resolution reviews following customer builds at the concept, prototype and production stages of development.
  • Pilot reviews and launch-readiness meetings
  • Quality issues


    2.         Review sample parts (concept-, prototype- and production-level) with the customer for immediate feedback.

  • Check parts in concept-, prototype- and production-level vehicles
  • Lead troubleshooting for any issues identified with Harman products.


    3.         Review and negotiate engineering specifications with the customer.


    4.         Assist the Harman Sales personnel in supporting the customer, as necessary.

  • Communicate all commercial requests by the customer to the appropriate Harman Sales personnel.
  • Forward information on customer and competitor activities relevant to Harman’s interests.


    5.         As required, serve as Harman’s local liaison with Toyota regarding program management, manufacturing and quality issues.



Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.



                                  Language: Basic (or better) English desirable (written and verbal)

                 Fluency in Japanese required (written and verbal)


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent) preferred.

                                      Additional experience can be substituted for education and vice-versa.                

                     Experience: Three years of related experience. 

              Ideal candidate has experience working with Toyota.

              Resident Engineering experience is very desirable.

Travel:                          Some overnight travel may be required, including flights of up to 14 hours in length.
