About the Role

HARMAN’s diverse portfolio of businesses and customers offer interns a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of projects and practices. As a member of our team, your primary role will be to support the human resources and learning and development functions in the Northridge office.


Your Team

This role will report directly to the both the Sr. Manager, Human Resources and Sr. Manager Learning and Development.

What You Will Do

  • Assist with the new hire, termination and recruiting processes within Lifestyle Consumer Audio
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the 2020 summer intern program
  • Provide support with audit of personnel files and perform data quality checks to improve data quality lines to HRIS and HTC systems
  • Benchmark best practices and make recommendations for changes and improvements
  • Assist with the learning needs analysis of training requests
  • Provide training solution proposals and assist with the design and development of training
  • Support all logistics (before, during and after) for training programs; coordinate facility, accommodation and equipment needs; track participation and other success measures; provide data and reports as needed
  • Provide support to the LS HR Team as needed on various projects

What You Need

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Sophomore year or later, or graduate/Ph.D. program at an accredited institution taking at least one class in the semester prior to the internship program and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
  • Degree must be in related area of work with courses in Human Resources, Management, Learning and Development or related Business field.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders
  • Proven analytical skills in working with data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and executing a plan to deliver on those opportunities

What is Nice to Have

  • Previous entry level work experience strongly preferred

What Makes You Eligible

  • Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work in the Northridge, CA office
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability from May 18, 2020 through August 7, 2020 and be able to work 40 hours per week
  • Highly prefer candidates who live within a commutable distance
