BASIC FUNCTION
Manages the health, safety and security of employees in compliance with corporate policy and federal, state, and local regulations at the Washington, Missouri and Franklin, Kentucky facilities
.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Supervises the safety and health programs to ensure compliance with established policies and OSHA regulations.
2. Coordinates inspections and tours of facilities to detect existing or potential accident, fire and health hazards and recommends corrective or preventive actions.
3. Serves as liaison with local fire departments, area hospitals, and other outside agencies regarding employee safety and health programs.
4. Responsible for plant compliance with federal, state and local safety regulations as well as environmental management system (ISO14001). Monitors compliance in the plant, holds training sessions to make managers, supervisors, and employees aware of safety procedures and maintains all necessary records and file reports.
5. Insure compliance with all environmental and EPA regulations and performs the following related duties:
• Insure that employee handling hazardous wastes are adequately trained;
• Insure that employees potentially exposed to hazardous chemicals are adequately trained;
• Respond to employee complaints regarding chemical exposure and insure that industrial hygiene monitoring of workplace air is sufficient to establish actual exposure;
• Investigate engineering controls in areas where chemical exposure is greater than established TLV’s;
• Maintain master lists of hazardous chemicals and master sets of MSDS’s;
• Verify general housekeeping as associated with HWM and that chemical and waste storage areas are being properly managed, documented and periodically inspected;
• Act as primary Emergency Coordinator;
• Notify proper authorities and implement emergency procedures when necessary;
• Supervise employees or contractors involved in spill cleanup;
• Maintain compliance documentation and records relevant to job duties;
• Identify quality HWM vendors;’
• Act as contact person for regulatory agencies;
• Review and implement HWM policies and procedures.
6. Manages Plant worker’s compensation program.
7. Serves as Environmental Management Representative.
8. Manages security staff and mandates appropriate security policies and procedures.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: Five to Seven years of related experience.
Certifications: Strong computer software skills, i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and HRIS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Manual Dexterity: Work requires a few simple but rapid hand operations with minimal requirement for accuracy or placement.
Physical Effort: Work requires handling lightweight materials or equipment with no special speed or exertion.
Working Conditions: Ordinary office, shop, field, or warehouse working conditions with some slightly disagreeable features.
Hazards: Negligible. Little or no exposure to hazards.
