POSITION: Sr. Test Engineer
HOURS: Full time, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
SALARY: $79,900 per year
JOBSITE: Novi, Michigan
Implements test solutions for manufacturer of automotive audio systems. Reviews technical info on particular product line; applies knowledge of test engineering methods, automation tools, AM/FM circuit tuning to outline performance specs and test method. Selects radio test equipment and develops the necessary communication links with RS-232 and GPIB protocols. Develops software for PIC (programmable integrated circuit) using C and Assembly. Uses Bios Server, PMEX and JScript to develop/implement automated tests which verify radio tuner compliance with performance specs and manufacturing quality standards (ISO & Six Sigma). Visits employer's manufacturing facilities to install and configure tuner test equipment, set up new test procedure, and train local test technicians. (Domestic business travel approximately 20% of the time. Expenses paid by employer.)
Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent degree) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or related field
2. 3 yr. experience as Engineer or Technologist in Test Engineering or Process Engineering, or equivalent occupation
Experience must include: ISO & Six Sigma quality standards; test equipment; RS-232 & GPIB protocols; development of test automation software; “C” and Assembly. Willing to travel approximately 20% of the time.
