Job Title: Senior User Interface Designer
Essential Responsibilities:
• The Human Machine Interface team is looking for a very talented user-interface designer / digital graphic designer to create help create desirable and useful interfaces for a wide range of home entertainment products.
• Research currently available products
• Develop user interface/interaction design concepts based on research and analysis utilizing user-centered design principles
• Create rough mock-ups in prototyping software (Fireworks)
• Prototype refined mock-ups in Flash
• Create screen layouts for the controls and displays for consumer media products
• Design brand specific graphics on target hardware and test in the target user environment
• Author and maintain user interface specifications
• Work closely with industrial designers, graphic designers and usability engineers to ensure superior ease of use of new products
• Work closely with product marketing and engineering teams to understand business and technical concerns and constraints
• Collaborate with software engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure the successful execution of user interface designs
• Produce image assets (output graphics) and document the on-screen locations
• Ensure the integration of product graphics is consistent throughout the product design and conforms to the brand guidelines
• Be very detail oriented
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Behavioral Sciences, Human Factors/Ergonomics, Computer Science, User Interface/Interaction Design or related field is required.
• 5+ years of digital product interaction/UI design (consumer or otherwise) preferred
• Strong analytical and process-oriented problem-solving skills
• Excellent visual (sketches, wire frames, screen mockups, flow diagrams, etc.), written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with illustration and image manipulation (Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Proficient with a user interface prototyping tool
• Solid understanding of the product development process, including meeting the needs of business, software, hardware, and quality assurance
• Exceptional graphic and concept develop
