ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the institutionalizing and continuous improvement of insight gathering as part of the overall NPI process.
• Create, maintain and continually improve marketing concept testing and validation as part of the overall NPI process.
• Integrate a systemized customer and consumer feedback mechanism into the overall NPI process.
• Work with brand teams to systemize consumer research procedures in product development and launch process
• Support region, market, engineering and brand management requests for ad hoc research
• Create a regular reporting structure and template to distribute to all Harman Consumer Brand and Sales Team members
• Develop and manage marketing research projects for Harman Consumer Brand and Sales Team
• Coordinate research activities and learnings with region and market data analysts
• Analyze market data and provide regular interpretation toplines for Harman Consumer senior management
• Establish an institutionalized system for consumer and customer feedback
• Establish policy for requesting and reporting research throughout the Harman Consumer Organization

• Fully built and implemented research processes that support the consistent achievement of the overall NPI metrics (on time, on budget, on target)
• Correlation of concept projections to performance in market.
• Improvement of NPI process through the overall collection of post launch feedback
• Quality and usability of analysis
• Budgetary management
• Interaction with global and local brand/market teams
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
• Reports to VP Brand Management
• Interacts directly with Category, Engineering and Region Management Teams
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• BS Degree in human behavioral or statistical fields is required – MBA preferred
• 10 years of experience in corporate or independent research group leading a systemized concept validation or insight gathering program
Required Experience & Knowledge:
• Minimum 5 years of qualitative moderation or observational research experienced
• Must be an experienced moderator
• Experience managing and interacting with international teams
• Public presentation and press briefing experience
• Project management certification and/or training
• Ability to lead through influence in a matrix environment
• High Customer orientation: recognition and credibility with the customer as a trusted, collaborative and productive Harman partner. Understands what it takes to win in the market place..
